Some people train for a career in order to make lots of money or to fulfill their passion. Others put themselves out there and try to better the world. And then there are some, a select few, who choose to mix their passion with the ideals that they have of bettering the world. These are the people who become legends in their own time, and Keith Latman is just one of them.
The Building Blocks
Keith Latman is a man who began his career from scratch. Unlike some of the younger people today, he didn't have much to go on when it came to the technological world. Things were still being discovered and tweaked when he started studying and tinkering with computers. He realized one day that computers would become the necessary machines that they are today, and understood that he could help computers, and those running the computers, to reach their full potential, whether they were in the retail world or just used computers in their private time.
Choosing to study and train on computers, Keith learned from the ground up. Once he discovered that he had a talent for computer and businesses, he put himself out there and began to build companies. The company he is most well-known for was one of his first. Microworkz.com was a very successful company and website. Unfortunately, as happens with many new business ventures, a number of things went wrong at the same time, causing the business to falter and, eventually, to fail.
Standing Up Again
Lesser men would have been frustrated and would have quit. Not Keith. He knew that he had the ability and the talent to succeed, and instead of whining, learned the lessons from his mistakes and chose to move on. Soon after he started Retail TRAC, which became very popular and was eventually sold to Minow LLC. Later he helped to create MicroPOS, which was quickly snapped up by Micros.
The Car Industry
Keith realized that there was a large use for technology in the car dealership field, so he began learning about the car industry the same way he learned about technology: from the ground up. He worked for a number of internet departments in the San Francisco Bay Area. One of the departments he worked for sold over 1,200 cars in just one short year.
